HOOVER – The Greystone Ladies Club kicked off a new year with a luncheon meeting focused on fall fashions on Sept. 9.
Five club members modeled outfits and accessories from J.McLaughlin, a women’s boutique at The Summit in Birmingham, during a fashion show.
Store manager Liz Stoner said The Summit’s J.McLaughlin store will reach its one-year anniversary of opening in October.
The Birmingham location is one of nearly 100 J.McLaughlin stores. Brothers Kevin and Jay McLaughlin opened their first shop in 1977, according to the Brooklyn-based company’s website.
“We love Birmingham,” store manager Liz Stoner said.
Stoner emceed the club’s fashion show and talked about the fabrics, colors, patterns and composition of the outfits, which were part of a fall collection debut.
Stoner described the pieces as “very wearable” and resistant to wrinkling.
“We make them all in-house,” she said of the clothes. “The quality is impeccable.”
Members browsed an assortment of pieces for sale in the Founders Clubhouse lobby, and a drawing was held for two $250 gift cards to J.McLaughlin.
The club’s next luncheon is scheduled for Oct. 14.
