According to his arrest warrant, Alberts allegedly stole money and marijuana from an acquaintance using a handgun. The robbery took place on Aug. 17 at an extended stay motel in Pelham, and the Pelham Police Department was called to the scene.

Upon further investigation, Police Chief Larry Palmer said deputies learned that narcotics were involved in the incident.

Palmer said Alberts, who lists an address in the 600 block of Treymoore Lake Circle in Alabaster, was incarcerated in the Chilton County Jail and was arrested Sept. 9 after his release.

Alberts is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $120,000. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 7 at 8:30 a.m. First-degree robbery is a Class A felony. According to Alabama state law, Alberts could serve up to life in prison if convicted.
