CHELSEA – The Chelsea High School Band Boosters are still accepting new vendors for the sixth annual Chelsea Day set for Saturday, Oct. 3.

“This is our major fundraiser for the year,” Band Boosters Vice President Jon Curren said. “It’s been pretty successful every year.”

This year’s event, dubbed a “Celebration of the Arts,” will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Chelsea City Hall.

A variety of handmade and retail items will be available from vendors and artisans, and food vendors will provide refreshments in place of concessions from band boosters.

Attendees can also enjoy an inflatable and petting zoo, along with a silent auction.

Anyone interested in participating in Chelsea Day as a vendor should contact Curren at 329-0440 or Chelseahighband2012@gmail.com.

Curren said vendors will be accepted through the morning of the event, but anyone contacting him after Thursday, Oct. 1 should do so by email instead of telephone.

The CHHS Band will play throughout the day, and other school, church and community groups will provide live entertainment.

Proceeds from Chelsea Day will go toward purchasing new instruments, uniforms and music for the band, which includes nearly 175 students.

Curren said the event typically raises between $3,000 and $5,000 each year.

Parking will be available at city hall with overflow parking at Chelsea Middle School. A shuttle service will transport attendees from the CHMS parking lot to city hall.

Admission is free.
