HELENA–A national outdoor furniture company is now offering for purchase a pattern that represents the city of Helena and is now available for purchase.
Laura Joseph has been a resident of Helena for the past seven years and currently works for NorthCape international outdoor furniture company.
Joseph said the company was coming up with new ideas for patterns and colors for a variety of fabric cushions.
“We needed a new fabric for cushions, and when coming up with new patterns and fabrics we have to come up with different names,” said Joseph. “I came up with a pattern and thought of the name ‘Helena Mist’ and we ended up choosing that one.”
The Helena Mist design features a variety of dark and light blues as well as light brown and white all in vertical lines.
“It was around the summertime and we came up with the pattern in conjunction with Sunbrella fabrics,” said Joseph. “We offer the pattern on a lot of our mainline cushions and in other styles.”
After naming the cushion and seeing the design, Joseph brought two of the pillows up to city hall to show them to Helena Mayor Mark Hall.
Hall was so satisfied with the design and the name that he decided to put the cushions up in city hall for display in the future.
Joseph said she enjoys Helena so much she decided to name the cushions after her community.
“I love Helena and that it’s such a family type community and everyone is so supportive,” said Joseph. “It’s got that great small-town feel. Its tight knit and easy to get involved in things and that’s one of the things I loved when we moved here.”
