FROM STAFF REPORTS

The Junior League of Birmingham is holding its 10th annual Shop Save & Share program from Oct. 21 to Nov. 1. The fundraiser allows shoppers to save on items from local retailers while also supporting the JLB’s 34 community projects.

For $40, participants will receive a Shop Save & Share card, which will get them a 20 percent discount at more than 550 participating stores and restaurants.

A variety of retailers are participating in this year’s Shop Save & Share event, including Highland Shoe Company, Urban Home Market, Prissy’s, Southern Roots, Ditsy Daisy, Alabama Outdoors, Favorite Laundry, Blissful Boutique, Lucky Dog Grooming and Boutique, Pure Bliss Salon Spa, Simply Infused and Skin Therapy.

“Being a part of the community is a large part of our business, and partnering with the Junior League of Birmingham is one way we express our support of local non-profits,” Kim Anderson, owner of Favorite Laundry in Mt Laurel, said.

“At Lucky Dog, we are thrilled to partner with the Junior League of Birmingham for the Shop Save & Share fundraiser,” Magan Hall, owner of Lucky Dog Grooming and Boutique, added. “We have several customers who look forward to this event each year.”

In addition to retailers, a variety of restaurants are participating in the JLB’s fundraiser, including Ashley Mac’s, Newk’s Express Cafe and Maki Fresh.

A donation to the JLB through the Shop Save & Share program gives a student the opportunity to participate in the College Admissions Made Possible program; purchases a week’s worth of snacks, magazines and books for mothers restricted to bed rest in the UAB NICU; provides food over the weekends for a child suffering from under nutrition; and provides children books through the Better Basics and JLB Imagination Library.
