COLUMBIANA–A 67-year-old Helena man has been released from the Shelby County Jail after he was arrested on two possession of child pornography charges.

Joesph Gregory Minor, who lists an address in the 1400 block of Whirlaway Court in Helena, was arrested on Oct. 5 and charged with two counts of possession of child pornography.

According to his arrest warrants, on Oct. 5 Minor allegedly possessed two videos of a child under the age of 12 engaged in “sado-masochistic abuse.”

Minor was released from the Shelby County Jail on Oct. 5 after posted bonds totaling $30,000.

Possession of child pornography is a Class C felony and is punishable by up to 10 years in prison upon conviction.

A preliminary hearing in the case has been set for Nov. 4 at 8:30 a.m.
