HELENA–Residents in the Helena area now have a new option when it comes to shopping for new furniture, mattresses, living room and bedroom furniture and more.

American Freight Furniture and Mattress opened their 114^th discount furniture store located at 4600 Shelby County 52 in Helena on Friday, Oct. 9.

The new furniture store replaces the old Sam Lily Auctions location where customers will have the ability to shop at the 43,000-square-foot store.

Regional Manager Jay Khan was helping put some of the finishing touches on the Helena location on Friday, Oct. 9 and he described more information on the company and what the store offered.

“We have stores in New York, all the way down to Florida and as far out as Texas,” said Khan. “We come into buildings well overhead and we do everything direct from the manufacturer. We’re able to buy directly from the manufacturer and store our furniture in our showroom and we actually pass the savings onto our customers. We’ve been in business for about 25 years with that same concept and have fortunately been able to grow quite a bit over the years.”

When asked about making the decision to come to the Helena area, Khan said it was more about reaching a market that they previously failed to reach in the past.

“We have a store over in Trussville and we just felt like further south we weren’t really servicing that market so we thought Helena would be a great spot,” said Khan. “It’s a nice town with great people so we have high hopes for it.”

Customers have a wide range of options to choose from and American Freight offers brands like Stewart & Hamilton, Simmons and Serta and more.

American Freight Furniture and Mattress hours are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
