The GFWC-Alabama Novella Club of Columbiana is sponsoring its 20th Antiques, Arts, and Crafts Show, Saturday, Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Shelby County Exhibition Center on Highway 70 in Columbiana.

The show is the major fundraiser of the club which donates its proceeds to local schools, women’s and children’s charities.

There will be something for everyone! Vendors come from all over the state to sell their wares: Hand-blown glass, art, jewelry, Christmas decorations, antiques, tablecloths, children’s clothes and bows and much, much more.

As the show is on Halloween, dress your kiddos in their favorite costumes so they can have their picture taken.

The pictures will be judged at 4 p.m. and a cash prize will be given to winners. You do not have to be present to win!

The “Dream Makers” will give a free show from 10 a.m. to noon.

This talented dance group from Elvin Hill Elementary School are always a delight!

“There will be something for all the family and a great time to shop for Christmas,” said Bonnie Atchison. “This show is so much fun!”

Novella was organized and federated in 1957, a group of women whose motto is: “Let is believe in the present and its opportunities, in the future and its promise, and in the Divine joy of working for the betterment of all.”

Current Novella officers are: President Bonnie Atchison; Vice President Becky Moore; Secretary Pam Johnson; and Treasurer Janice Key.

Funds raised support the Annual Cancer Survivor Dinner, recently held at First Baptist Church of Columbiana, Police Appreciation Day, Miss Shelby County Scholarship, Shelby County High School Female Scholarship, personalized blankets for each resident at the Columbiana Health and Rehab Center, Safe House, schools grants and Heifer International.

This fall, the Novella Club will sponsor a Fireman and Rescue Appreciation Day with banner and meal to show the support for our local firemen and rescue workers.

Last year the Novella Club gave a lunch to show support and appreciation for the police.

Vendor spaces are 12-by-12 at $50.
