HELENA–Residents in the Helena area will now have a new option for pizza, sandwiches, wings, salads, desserts and more as the Marco’s Pizza franchise is set to open off Shelby County 17 in the former Backyard Burgers location.

The grand opening for Marco’s Pizza is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 19 at 11 a.m. Marco’s will be open for both lunch and dinner.

Rick Poston, franchise owner and operating partner said they chose the Helena location after scouting properties.

“Mayor Hall and the city have been very helpful and have helped in every way possible,” said Poston. “We’re excited about opening the Helena location.”

In 2013 Marco’s Pizza added 109 new stores and as of March 2014, has over 500 stores in 35 states, doubling in size over the last five years, according to the website.

The particular Helena location will be open Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Marco’s Pizza offers a variety of pizza options with different meat and vegetable toppings and various crust options. A few of the sub sandwiches offered include the Italiano sub, steak brunno sub, meatball Fabio sub and more.

“We will offer delivery, carryout, call ahead, online ordering and 56 seats will be available for dining in,” said Poston.
