Local Delta Zeta alumnae chapter honors members at Founders Day Tea

The Delta Zeta Birmingham Alumnae Chapter held the annual Founders Day Tea on Sunday, Oct. 25 at Mountain Brook Presbyterian Church.

The event honored Delta Zetas who have reached a membership milestone of 50 years with the Order of the Golden Rose and 65 years with the Order of the Pearl.

This year’s Golden Rose honorees included Carol Simmons Bradley and Judy Awbrey Childress of Hoover, Nancy Webb Garrett of Gardendale and June Cassidy Rotch of Mountain Brook.

Pat Culverhouse Allen of Birmingham was the Order of the Pearl honoree.

Glenda Lott, chapter president of Hoover, presented the honorees with a certificate and long-stem pink rose.

Nancy Magel Harper of Mountain Brook was the Founders Day Committee event chairwoman. Serving on the committee were Reception Chairwoman Carol Medders of Homewood and Correspondence Chairwoman Christina Carl of Alabaster and Linda Hamner McPhillips of Cullman.

Others attending were Dana Harris Camp, Krystle Gilchrist Campbell, Ginger Black Cowley, Liz Harding Estes, Liz Frye Fox, Beth Titlow Gittons, Pat Crumpton Grey, Mary Ella Hamner, Panda Patton Irwin, Jean Wickstrom Liles, Virginia Gilbert Loftin, Robbie Black Roberts, Carol SteedmanSpain and Sarah Beth Thornton.

Membership in the Birmingham chapter is open to any Delta Zeta alumnae in good standing with the National Panhellenic Conference Sorority.
