Shelby County dominates Chilton County 82-45

COLUMBIANA – The Shelby County Wildcats took on the visiting Chilton County in a Nov. 16 match-up, where the Wildcats completely dismantled the visiting Tigers 82-45.

Dominant is the only way to describe the first quarter effort from the Wildcats. Shelby County jumped all over Chilton County with a very impressive 24-4 run. The Wildcats never looked back as they took a 31-9 lead into the second.

The second quarter was much like the first as Shelby County increased the lead to 40-15 with 4:39 left in the first half of play. Dominant play continued from the Wildcats as they held a 52-26 lead going into the half.

Shelby County did not let off the gas after the break as it continued with an impressive 10-3 run to start of the third quarter of play. Once again the Wildcats never looked back as they took a 74-42 lead into the final quarter of play.

In the fourth quarter Wildcat head coach Tori Brown slowed the pace and pulled the starters to preserve the 82-45 victory. With the win Shelby County moves to 1-1 on the young season.

Senior point guard Quinterrious Montgomery, who tallied 27 points on the night, led Shelby County. Shelby County also was led by senior big man Tanner Brooks who showed fantastic effort in putting up 10 points to go alongside a very impressive 9 rebounds.

The Wildcats will travel to Oxford to take on the Yellow Jackets this Saturday.
