HOOVER – The leader of the 2015 Spain Park defense is headed up North. To Cincinnati, to be more specific. Young, who accumulated 74 tackles and four sacks for the Jaguars’ defense in his senior season, announced his commitment to the Bearcats via Twitter on Dec. 14 just after 9 a.m.

“After talking it over with my family and coaches I’ve decided to Commit to the University of Cincinnati Bearcats,” Young tweeted from his personal account @_DreamChaser6_.

Young will join former Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville’s Bearcat team that finished 7-5 a season ago. Tuberville, in his 10 seasons as Auburn’s head coach from 1999-2008, went 85-40 overall and won the Sugar Bowl in 2004.

Since 2013, Tubberville’s first season as the Cincinnati head coach, Young is only the third football commit from Alabama to join the Bearcats, joining Korey Cunningham from Montevallo High School in 2013 and Hayden Moore from Clay-Chalkville High School in 2014.
