Phillip Tate, age 64, of Shelby, died Monday, Dec. 21.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 24 at Bolton Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Tate officiating. Burial will follow at the Alabama National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 24 at Bolton Funeral Home.

Phillip is survived by his children, Steve Tate (Donna), Shannon Tate (Belinda) and Kristie Tate; brothers, Steve Tate, Sam Tate, and Wessie “Butch” Tate; grandchildren, Hope Minor (Dustin), Hunter Tate, Shane Higgins (Amber), Shannon Tate, Jordan Dare, Abigail Tate, Selena Wallace, Laylyn Langston, Addison Tate, and Amber Mickinleigh Cleckley.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Debra Kay Tate; daughter, Amber Tate; parents, Julius Lester Tate and Ozell Gill Tate; and brother, Ray Tate.
