HOOVER—A new pizza restaurant may be coming to the Village at Lee Branch. Brixx Wood Fired Pizza is eyeing the U.S. 280 shopping center for its second Hoover location, a local commercial real estate agent confirmed.

Brixx Wood Fired Pizza offers a large selection of 23 specialty pizzas, from the classic margherita pizza to more exotic choices, such as the Bronx Bomber—a pie layered with tomato sauce and piled with spicy Italian sausage, prosciutto, mozzarella, gorgonzola and fresh oregano—and the Sweet Thai Chicken—crust stacked with chicken covered in sweet chili sauce, goat cheese, mozzarella, roasted red peppers, pistachios and topped with Thai peanut satay dressing.

Each 10-inch pizza is cooked in a wood burning brick oven. Diners may choose traditional, whole wheat or gluten free crust, and vegan cheese is available as well.

Brixx also offers a variety of pastas, salads, deserts, beer, wine and cocktails. Children may select from a kid’s menu, and gluten free options are listed in a menu as well.

The franchise has 28 locations across the country, including one in Hoover’s Patton Creek shopping center.

According to Southeast Commercial Properties leasing and sales agent Porter Mason, the potential Lee Branch restaurant is under negotiations and no date has been set for construction.

The tentative site for the Brixx location is a 5,898 square-foot piece of undeveloped land across from The Melting Pot and Carmike Cinemas.
