WETUMPKA – At the Barry Mask Invitational held at Wetumpka High School on Dec. 28, both Chelsea High School and Spain Park High School were among the 20 teams to compete. Chelsea, led by defending 6A 120-pound champion Aaron Ledbetter, placed seventh overall in the tournament with 101 total points while Spain Park placed 11th with 79.5 points.

Ledbetter was the only county competitor to win his weight class at the invitational, as he beat Tyler Ingram of Grissom High School in the finals of the 126-pound competition by a 3-2 decision. Roderick Tyson, a senior, placed second in the heavyweight division, falling to Jacob Andrews in the finals of the 285-pound class. Austin Sciara also placed fourth in the 120-pound class for Chelsea, losing to Sebastian Berres of J.O. Johnson via a 4-3 decision.

Rivers, a freshman, placed third overall in the 106-pound class with a 5-0 decision over James Hughes of Grissom High School in the consolation match of the weight class.
