Charles Eugene Seales, age 87, passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 11, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 14, 1928 and was the oldest lifetime resident of the Saginaw community in Shelby County.

His survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Martine (Knowles) Seales; children, Tommy Seales (Carol) and Phillip Seales (Beverly); six grandchildren, Stacey (Seales) Smith, T.J. Seales (Krystin), Joey Seales (Amanda), James Seales, Jason  Seales (Alicia) and Elizabeth Seales; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brothers, Wilburn Seales and Bobby Joe Seales (Diane); sister-in-law, Lola (Hall) Seales; and several nieces and nephews.

He, the first born child, was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Audry Seales and Naomi (Massey) Seales; sister and brother-in-law, Jewel (Seales) Brasher and Norman R. Brasher; brother, David L. Seales; and sister-in-law Patsy (Thacker) Seales. Also, preceding him in death were twin brothers that died in infancy, Robert Lee Seales and Paul Leon Seales.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Jan. 13 from 6-8 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home, 521 Highway 31, Calera.

Funeral service will be Thursday, Jan. 14 at Charter Funeral Home beginning at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Elliottsville Cemetery in Alabaster. Rev. Brook Lovett officiating. Charter Funeral Home directing.
