Call for art: SCAC, UAB to partner for exhibition

The Shelby County Arts Council in partnership with UAB Department of Art and Art History present the 2016 Statewide Student Juried Art Exhibition.

The exhibit is open to all students in the state of Alabama in grades 10-12. Entry for the exhibit is free!

Deadline for entry is midnight Feb. 28. All entries will be submitted digitally to the Shelby County Arts Council.

Students may enter two works, completed within the last two years. Categories include Painting (Oil, Acyrlic, Watercolor), Drawing, Photography, 3D Design and Mixed Media.

Juried by UAB DAAH Chair Lauren Lake, the exhibit will feature cash prizes and provide a great opportunity for students’ work to be seen by college and university faculty during the College Preview Day.

The College Preview Day and Opening Reception will be held on Sunday, April 10 from 2–4 p.m. at the Shelby County Arts Council, 104 Mildred Street in Columbiana.
