Sunday afternoon on Buck Creek. Without a lot of entertainment in Helena on Sunday afternoons, it was a fun pastime to take pictures. Popular spots around town were the Cahaba River bridge, the dam and the railroad. This 1947 photograph shows Charles Nunnally, rear, and Joe Tucker, front, posing on the Helena-Blocton Mineral Railroad Bridge over Buck Creek. The L&N trestle over Buck Creek can be seen in the background. (Contributed/City of Helena Museum)
