Ernestine Bradberry Bentley, age 95, of Wilsonville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 3.

Ernestine was the daughter of Ernest Wesley and Zadie Ray Bradberry of Chelsea. She married Waymon J. Bentley on Sept. 1, 1938.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Waymon; brothers, JC Bradberry, Donald Wayne Bradberry, LP Bradberry, Roland Bradberry, Rudolph Bradberry and a grandson, Brian Bentley.

She is survived by her sisters, Ovelle Bradberry Rasco of Tarrant, Mary Bradberry Martin of Tyler, Texas; children, Diane B. Ellis (Butch) of Columbiana, Larry L. Bentley (Connie) of Columbiana, Sylvia B. McDonald (Tommy) of Wilsonville; grandchildren, Kelly Ellis Davis (Jonathon), Christy Ellis Brasher (Virgil), Frank Corley Ellis III (Julie), Rachel Bentley, Keith Bentley (Charlsie), Shannon McDonald Clark (Danny), Dylan T. McDonald; 10 great grandchildren and a multitude of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was a life-long member of Lesters Chapel United Methodist Church. Early in her life, she worked alongside her husband, Waymon, in various business ventures.  From 1964–1981, she was employed by Elastic Corporation of America in Columbiana. After her retirement from ECA, she became an invaluable support person for her growing flock of grandchildren and great grandchildren, an avid gardener and a faithful prayer warrior for friends and family.

Hardly a Sunday would pass at Lesters Chapel without Ernestine adding concerns to the prayer list. She also loved to travel. A faithful caregiver all her life, the last 10 months of her life were blessed by the homecare of her two daughters, three granddaughters and the phenomenal care of New Beacon Hospice.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 5 at Lesters Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Hubbard Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m., Saturday, March 5 at the church. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Lesters Chapel United Methodist Church.
