After nearly a month of Sunday services at the Cahaba Grand, the Church of the Highlands has leased the facility as a new church location, and beginning in early August, the large conference center will no longer be open for outside events, according to Cahaba Grand property holder Daniel Corporation.

The Cahaba Grand, located on U.S. 280 just east of the Interstate 459 interchange, is a multi-floor facility with event venues ranging from a 23,000-square-foot ballroom to private meeting rooms.

Church of the Highlands began hosting Sunday services in the conference center in early March, and plans are in place to transition the Cahaba Grande into a new church campus beginning Aug. 3, Daniel Corporation Chief Investment Officer Scott Pulliam said.

“We’ve got a lease with (Church of the Highlands) on the Cahaba Grand Conference Center,” Pulliam said. “I would describe it as a long term lease.”

Pulliam said Daniel Corp. and Church of the Highlands are working to accommodate all scheduled events up until Aug. 3, after which there will be “no more outside events.”

The Cahaba Grand is one of 14 Church of the Highlands campuses across the state. The location is currently listed on the Church of the Highlands website as the Grandview campus.

As of noon on March 23, the Church of the Highlands had not returned requests for comment.
