HELENA–The school year is steadily winding down and students are beginning to think about summer break, but before that happens, students at Helena Elementary School and their families will have the opportunity to participate in the 2016 Spring Fling.

The HES Spring Fling has become an annual tradition that students look forward to months and weeks ahead of time.

This year’s Spring Fling will be held April 8-10 at various times each day.

The Spring Fling consists of many carnival rides, games, food and prizes for everyone to enjoy at Helena Elementary School.

The Spring Fling will kickoff Friday, April 8 from 5:30-10 p.m. On Saturday, April 9 there will be two separate sessions with the first being 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and then 5-10 p.m. Lastly, on Sunday, April 10 the Spring Fling will be from 1-5 p.m.

Saturday only from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be class game booths and a silent auction. Class game tickets cost $5 for 10 tickets.

Armbands to each session of the Spring Fling cost $15 a piece and are good for unlimited rides during the entire length of the session. HES requests that armbands be purchased using cash only.

All the proceeds from the Spring Fling and silent auction fundraiser will go directly to the school.

After last year’s Spring Fling, HES Principal Mary Cooper stated what her favorite thing about the event was.

“My favorite thing is seeing kids and families and former students who come back to the fling,” said Cooper. “Since we’re just K through second grade, I miss watching them grow up. The Fling just represents Helena and it’s all about families and it’s just a fun time.”
