This photo shows what remained of one of Helena’s oldest structures after the devastating storm struck the town in the darkness of an early morning in May 1933.

Thursday, May 5, 2016, will mark the 83rd anniversary of the tornado that destroyed nearly 75 percent of Helena.

No scars of the storm remain except in the memory of the very few survivors that are alive today.
