Larry Ray Hughes, Sr. passed away Friday, May 6.  He was born on Nov. 1, 1947.

He is survived by Ms. Hughes, two sons, Larry Hughes, Jr. (Aggie) of Birmingham and Allen Hughes (Sharon) of Calera; and two grandsons, Austin Alan Hughes of Calera and Brandon Hughes of Daphne.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, James Howard Hughes and Nettie Laverne Hughes; daughter, Rhonda Jo Hughes; sister, Joyce Faye Hughes; brother, James Howard Hughes, Jr. (Dot) of Winfield; sister, Brenda Hughes Peppers (David) of Dora.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 11.

Ellison Memorial Funeral Home directed the service.
