Two Montevallo men charged with attempted murder

COLUMBIANA–Two Montevallo men are facing attempted murder charges after one suspect allegedly shot at a victim from an SUV while the other drove the vehicle.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office arrested Lamichael Salter, who lists an address in the 200 block of Graham Street, in Montevallo on June 19 and charged him with one felony count of attempted murder and probation violation.

According to his arrest warrants, Salter allegedly was driving a green Lincoln Navigator while the passenger of the vehicle began shooting at a victim with the intent to commit murder on June 19.

Salter is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail on a bond totaling $30,000, as of June 20.

Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Kevin Brand confirmed that the second suspect turned himself into authorities on Monday, June 20.

Vontarious Dameko Brown was booked into the Shelby County Jail on June 20 and was charged with attempted murder and is also being held on a bond totaling $30,000.

Brown lists an address in the Wilton area.

Attempted murder is a Class A felony, and is punishable by up to life in prison, according to Alabama law.
