ALABASTER – After a successful turnout last year, the city of Alabaster will again host its Independence Day fireworks display off Alabama 119 on July 2.

The city will hold a free public fireworks show beginning at 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, and will launch the spectacle from a field surrounding an old dairy silo between the Alabaster Post Office and Starbucks on Alabama 119.

The display will be about 25 minutes long, and the APH 99.9 radio station will again broadcast music to accompany the fireworks aerial display.

This will mark the second year the city has produced the fireworks show off Alabama 119 after moving the annual display from Veterans Park last year.

Parking will be prohibited along state and county roads during the display, and the city is encouraging residents to view from the following areas:

-Plaza Circle and Plaza Drive

-The Alabaster YMCA sports fields

-The area surrounding the Publix supermarket off Alabama 119

-Elliotsville Plaza

-Municipal Park off Warrior Drive

-Larry Simmons Stadium and its surrounding areas

The following diagram shows the best viewing areas for the fireworks:
