ALABASTER – Lee Cunningham touted his business experience and a desire to promote economic development in Alabaster while announcing his intention to run for a seat on the Alabaster City Council.
Cunningham has qualified to run in the Ward 1 City Council race, which will be decided during an election on Tuesday, Aug. 23. Alabaster’s election will be held from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Alabaster First United Methodist Church’s Restore building off Alabama 119.
“I believe it’s time for Ward 1 to have a new leader – a young, fresh face making sure the city is running the way the citizens of Ward 1 need,” Cunningham said. “I will make sure Ward 1 is taken care of, and I will be available to them whenever they need me.”
Cunningham works as an assistant store manager for the Walmart corporation, and said his business experience could benefit the city’s economy.
“I do believe Alabaster is on good footing right now, but I believe that with my business leadership we can go even higher,” Cunningham said. “I believe with my knowledge, we could draw even more jobs to Alabaster.”
Cunningham said he is a lifelong Alabaster resident, and said he will serve as an advocate for the citizens of Ward 1 if he is elected.
“I am the right candidate to steward Alabaster’s Ward 1 through the foreseeable future and beyond,” he said. “If elected, I will continue to ensure the city’s continued growth, as well as ensuring the citizens of Ward 1 get the services they deserve, and nothing less.
“I believe the citizens of Ward 1 need a high-energy leader, (and) I feel that I am the right man for the job,” he said. “I look forward to ensuring a promising and fulfilling Alabaster for all residents.”
