Helena releases candidate list for Aug. 23 municipal elections

HELENA–Residents in Helena will soon have a chance to decide two municipal races now that the city’s candidate–qualifying period has ended.
The candidate–qualifying period ended on July 19, and Helena has two places that will be contested, while the other three places on the council and the position of mayor will be uncontested.
The mayor and city council members for Helena are elected at large for four-year terms and on Tuesday, Aug. 23 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Helena Sports Complex the city will hold its municipal election to determine new municipal officers for 2016-2020.
The following candidates have qualified for the following races:

Mike Jones (Incumbent)

Cris Nelson (Incumbent)
Place 4
Laura Joseph
Tangee Edwards

Hal Woodman (Incumbent)
The Helena Sports Complex is located at 110 Sports Complex Road and if necessary, a run-off election will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
