ALABASTER – An Alabaster-based nonprofit radio station will be looking to bring the gridiron to local listeners this season, as it will live broadcast all Thompson, Pelham, Helena, Hope Christian, and Evangel Christian football games.
The 99.9 FM APH Radio station, which stands for Alabaster, Pelham and Helena, began broadcasting local games with Evangel’s Aug. 12 home game against Russell Cristian, and continued live broadcasts at Pelham’s Aug. 18 game at Homewood, Hope’s Aug. 19 game at Tabernacle, Helena’s Aug. 19 game against Ramsey and Evangel’s Aug. 19 jamboree against Kingwood Christian.
APH does not operate under a traditional advertising model. Rather, it donates its net profits to local charities serving local communities.
The radio station will broadcast several “Games of the week” live over the air on 99.9 FM. All other Thompson, Pelham, Helena, Hope and Evangel home and away games this year will be broadcast on the APH Radio mobile app, and will be available on-demand on the app after the original broadcasts.
The free mobile app is available for both Android and iOS devices.
