ALABASTER – Evangel won its 14^th consecutive game on Sept. 9 in a streak that dates back to the early portion of the 2015 season after beating Ezekiel Academy easily, 46-14. The Lightning never truly struggled on Friday night, moving to 3-0 on the 2016 season.

Senior quarterback Micah Murphy finished with 194 yards rushing and scored four times on the ground and also added an 11-yard passing touchdown as well in the game to lead the way for the Lightning. Senior backfield mate Brad Baggett had 83 yards rushing and added a touchdown as well.

Evangel only held on to the ball for 16:33 of game clock, while Ezekiel had the ball for 31:27 but only managed 14 points.

With the win, Evangel will now turn its attention to cross-county rival Hope Christian, who the Lightning will play next Friday at the Columbiana Sports Complex.
