William “Duffie” Hughes, age 87, of Sterrett, passed away Monday, Sept. 19.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 21 at Bolton Funeral Home in Columbiana. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22 at Bolton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Union Methodist Cemetery in Westover.

Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Mr. Hughes retired from U.S. Steel, was a life-long craftsman, and a life-long resident of Westover.

Mr. Hughes is preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Hughes.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lorene Davis Hughes; daughter, Renata Hughes Martin (W. Boyd); sons, M. Chad Hughes (Brenda) and W. Mark Hughes (Mary); grandchildren, Brooke Williams, Shaye Mihich, Kelly Coleman, Kaila Little, Kayla Turner, Wesley Hughes, and Grant Hughes; seven great grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
