ALABASTER – Local jazz fans will have a chance to enjoy some smooth tunes while basking in the fall weather in early October, as Alabaster is hosting its Jazz in the Park event.
The event will begin at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9, and will feature the Kelley O’Neal Band, Greg Manning and an opening performance by the Thompson High School Jazz Ensemble.
Jazz in the Park will be in the field next to Alabaster City Hall and the Alabaster Senior Center off 11th Avenue Southwest, right next to the iconic Siluria Mill water tower.
The city will set up a stage for the concert, and food trucks will be on-hand to provide food to patrons. The event is scheduled to end a 9 p.m.
Parking is available at and near City Hall and the Senior Center, but no shuttle service is scheduled, according to event organizers.
The show is presented by Magic City Smooth Jazz, and has been organized by the Alabaster Arts Council and the Shelby County Arts Council.
