PELHAM – Pelham’s Pupuseria and Camino Real restaurants and Mi Pueblo Supermarket will be featured at the 14th annual Fiesta multicultural festival Saturday, Oct. 1.

The festival will be at Linn Park in Birmingham, 710 20th St. North, from noon to 8 p.m.

More than 10,000 people attend Fiesta every year, which features more than 20 cultures from Hispanic countries, said Sally Immel, a Fiesta communications representative. Fiesta is Alabama’s largest and longest-running multicultural event that celebrates the state’s Hispanic population.

Immel said Mi Pueblo Supermarket is a recurring vendor at the festival.

Fiesta, presented by McDonald’s, will include musical performances, storytelling, local art, food, cultural activities and free health services. Proceeds from festival provide scholarships for Hispanic students throughout Alabama.

“Fiesta is a family friendly event that spotlights the unique Hispanic community of Alabama, while encouraging others to celebrate and learn more about the diverse Hispanic cultures in our communities,” said Fiesta President Cristina Almanza. “Over the past 13 years, we have raised more than $70,000 in scholarship funds for Hispanic students, and hope to increase awareness about Fiesta to continue funding scholarships for deserving recipients.”

Admission is $8 in advance and $10 at the gate. Children 12 and under are admitted for free.
