PELHAM – The Pelham Police Department is seeking the public’s help to identify two men when broke into lockers at the Pelham YMCA, stealing wallets and credit cards on Oct. 20.
Pelham Police Department Detective Brad Jordan said this is not the first time the men have stolen credits cards in the area. Jordan said the men targeted Pelham in December 2015 and fall 2014.
With the December 2015 theft, the men used the stolen credit cards to purchase $4,000 in merchandise at multiple stores in Alabaster. Jordan said the men steal credit cards sporadically along the Interstate 65 corridor.
The same men are confirmed to have stolen credit cards in Tennessee also. Jordan said fitness centers are easy targets for thieves.
“You’re separating yourself from your belongings and people take advantage of that,” he said. “This is most likely what they do for a living – they hit one spot and move on. We’re hoping that someone will see the surveillance photos and recognize them.”
If you recognize either of these individuals, contact Jordan at 620-6440 or the Pelham Police Department at 620-6550.
