PELHAM – The Pelham City Council and Mayor Gary Waters will hold the first quarterly meeting of the Pelham Business Council on at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena.

All business owners are invited to attend and lunch will be provided. The goal of the council is for city officials and local business owners to work together to make Pelham a business friendly city.

Mayor Gary Waters said there isn’t an agenda for the meetings. The meetings begin by reviewing what was discussed at the last meeting and builds on that.

“The agenda is driven by the audience,” Waters said. “Business owners are free to bring up any topics or whatever issues they’d like.”

Some topics of discussion have included business licenses and the school system. Waters said a typical crowd ranges from 30-75 business owners.

The dates for the remaining Pelham Business Council meetings of the year are April 18, July 18 and Oct. 24. All of the meeting will be held at the Pelham Civic Complex.
