PELHAM – Pelham High School’s Tower of Power marching band is hosting a fundraiser on Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m. that will feature high-flying basketball tricks, slam dunks and interactive fun at the PHS gymnasium.

The Harlem Wizards, a professional basketball team that incorporates fun tricks and interaction with the crowd into their games, will stop through Pelham to play against a team of local leaders, teachers and community members.

Band director Justin Ward said Pelham City Schools Superintendent Dr. Scott Coefield and Mayor Gary Waters are among the team of 25 set to play against the Harlem Wizards.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go to the band. Concessions will be available and the Harlem Wizards will have merchandise available to purchase. A portion of the proceeds from merchandise sales will go to the band also.

Ward said the funds will be used to help offset the cost of operating the band program, such as covering travel expenses and buying new uniforms.

Tickets purchased in advance are $12 for adults and $10 for children under 18. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door for $15. Tickets can be purchased at any Pelham school or online at Harlemwizards.com.
