John L. Davis House. Welsh miner J.L. Davis (1839-1902) built this house about 1885 on Rolling Mill Street. He planted 1,000 pear trees nearby, hoping for a ready market for his fruit in Birmingham. The house was destroyed in the 1933 tornado. (Contributed photo/City of Helena Museum)
