HELENA–In an effort to continue to raise funds for a future baseball field to provide opportunities for children with disabilities to play Miracle League Baseball, the Helena Miracle League organization is hosting an inaugural Miracle Ride and Food Truck Rally on Saturday, June 3.
The Miracle Ride and Food Truck Rally will be from 1:30-7 p.m. on June 3 at the Helena Sports Complex.
The Miracle Ride is sponsored by Motorcycle Supply Store in Helena and riders can pay $30 for a fun ride through South Shelby County. The bike ride will follow a path from Helena to Montevallo, through the Cahaba Wildlife Management area and then back to Helena to enjoy the Food Truck Rally at the Sports Complex.
Proceeds from both the Miracle Ride and Food Truck Rally will benefit the Helena Miracle League.
The Helena Miracle League project will include a 125-foot baseball field with a mission to provide opportunities for children with disabilities to play Miracle League Baseball, regardless of their abilities, promote community support and sponsorship of Miracle Leagues and promote the construction of special facilities that meet the unique needs of Miracle League players and their families.
The volunteers with the Helena Miracle League organization have a two-year plan that includes matching funds from grants and the league hopes to raise target funds of $691,000 in different tiers to complete the project. The goal is to start playing baseball in two years once all the fundraising goals are met.
Those participating in the Miracle Ride may register online or the day of the ride. Kickstands will go up at 2:30 p.m.
The Food Truck Rally will include a variety of food trucks from around the area that will be set up at the Helena Sports Complex.
