COLUMBIANA- A Shelby man who was recently arrested on charges of producing child pornography, sodomy and bestiality on May 26 received two additional charges of sodomy in the first degree on Wednesday, May 31.

Daniel Ray Dunn, 28, who lists an address on Shelby County 406, was already being held in the Shelby County Jail for the first three charges on bonds totaling $506,000 when he received the additional charges. His bond has since been increased to more than $1 million.

According to court documents, Dunn allegedly engaged in “deviate sexual intercourse with [the victim], who is less than 12 years old,” during separate incidences in April and May. According to the SCSO, both sodomy charges involve the same underage victim.

Dunn’s earlier charges of sodomy, production of child pornography and bestiality stemmed from several incidents that allegedly occurred in May that involved the underage victim and a female dog. Kelsey Michelle Culp, 22, who lists the same address as Dunn, was also arrested and charged with bestiality on May 30 after she allegedly “caused, aided or abetted another in engaging in any sexual contact with an animal.”

According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation is ongoing, and not much information can be released. SCSO Community Outreach Officer Debbie Sumrall expressed her sympathy for the victim and encouraged anyone with more information about these crimes to contact the SCSO.

“We feel horrible for the victim and the victim’s family,” Sumrall said.
