Waylon Cooper, age 78, of Harpersville, passed away Sunday, June 4.

The memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 8 at Union United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

He was an Army veteran, Mason, and member of Union United Methodist Church.

Mr. Cooper is preceded in death by his parents, George Cooper and Hazel Sanders Cooper; sister, Delana Jo Cooper; and sons, Stanley Eugene Cooper and Keith George Cooper.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Faye Cooper; sons, Donald Alan Cooper and David Wayne Cooper (Dawn); daughter, Karen Lynn Cooper Patterson (Patrick); grandsons, Noah Lee and Cody Cooper; and sister, Sandy Voline Logghe.

“This precious man entered the glorious gates of heaven!! Our hearts long to have him with us but we take comfort in KNOWING the suffering has ended, his mind and body are restored and he is at peace at the feet of Jesus! As we mourn the loss of a life partner, a father, a brother, a Papa and a friend, we cling to the PROMISE that we will be together again!! We love you Waylon and we will miss you until we join you at the party!”
