HOOVER – A wreck on Hugh Daniel Drive in Hoover the afternoon of Sunday, June 4, claimed a woman’s life, according to a release from Hoover Police Department.

The fatal crash occurred at about 1:50 p.m., when a 2012 Nissan Sentra driven by the victim left the roadway while traveling west on Hugh Daniel Drive and struck a tree.

The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The wreck occurred between North Lake Drive and Farmhouse Way.

Traffic crash investigators were on the scene Sunday attempting to reconstruct the wreck to determine its cause, according to the release.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
