ALABASTER – The Alabaster Teen Council will again give local youth several chances to enjoy the warm summer weather while catching a movie on the big screen this summer, as it recently released its teen Tuesdays movie schedule.

Throughout the summer, the Teen Council, which is composed of local teens who work closely with Alabaster Mayor Marty Handlon to organize youth-oriented offerings in the city, will hold the movie nights at Larry Simmons Stadium off Thompson Road.

The first Teen Tuesday movie night will be on June 13, and will be held every other week through Aug. 8. All teen movies start at 8 p.m.

The Teen Council will show the following movies this summer:

June 13- “The Shallows”
June 27- “Central Intelligence”
July 11- “Captain America: Civil War”
July 25- “Moana”
August 8- “Farris Bueller’s Day Off”

In addition to the movie nights, the Teen Council also will hold a pair of special summer events over the next few months.

On Tuesday, July 18, the council will hold its annual Slip-n-Slide event at Veterans Park off Alabama 119 in southern Alabaster, giving kids a chance to cool off with multiple giant water slides.

Then, on Saturday, Aug. 19, the Teen Council will hold its annual back-to-school bash for all middle and high school students at Municipal Park off Warrior Drive between Thompson High School and Thompson Middle School, featuring vendors, concessions, live music, karaoke and sports competitions.
