HOOVER – Christian Life Church off Valleydale Road is gearing up for Kidz Week July 10-12 for children ages kindergarten through fifth grade.
This year’s theme is “Gadgets and Gizmos,” which focuses on teaching children how they are uniquely wired and wonderfully made by God.
“Kidz Week is designed for kids to be able to come and have fun, while also allowing for life changing experiences,” Student Ministry Director Noah Ray said. “It is similar to a Vacation Bible School, but we put a different spin on it.”
Ray said each night begins with a pre-party at 5:30 p.m., which is filled with inflatables and various types of games.
Beginning at 6:30 p.m., the Kidz Week services begin and last for a little over one hour.
Ray said the church has hosted Kidz Week services for about four years, and anticipates having between 120 to 140 kids attend.
“The neat thing about our church is we are centrally located,” Ray said. “We have kids that come from all over including Helena, Alabaster, Hoover, parts of Birmingham, Calera and Jemison. We are able to reach a wider group than just the members of our church. We want it to become a city-wide event, and not just for a certain group of kids. This allows us to reach as many as we can, and we are very excited about that.”
Parents can pre-register for Kidz Week online prior to July 10, or children can also register each night of Kidz Week.
The event is free to attend.
“We will have registration each night for anyone that has not pre-registered,” Ray said. “Registration each night begins at 5:15 p.m. and we ask parents to fill out basic information about their kids.”
Christian Life Church is located at 2490 Valleydale Road.
