COLUMBIANA – The Columbiana-based Phil Dudley Band is celebrating the release of its latest album, “Seasons,” with a show at WorkPlay in Birmingham on Friday, Aug. 25 at 8 p.m.

According to front man Phil Dudley, “Seasons” was written as a reflection of different aspects of his life. A press release from the band referred to “Seasons” as a “10-song melodic journey, captivating emotions and senses.”

“’Seasons’ is based off life experiences, people I’ve met, places I’ve been and things that made me who I am today,” Dudley said.

The album was also endorsed by Shelby County Arts Council Executive Director Bruce Andrews.

“When a band knows how to listen to each other and play off of each other’s creative strengths, that’s chemistry. This album is one born of chemistry,” Andrews said.

Dudley, who has been playing music since he was 10 years old, said he began writing his own music at 17 and formed the Phil Dudley Band about two years ago. The band consists of Dudley, drummer Erich Cousins, guitarist William Yarbrough and bassist Jack Dudley.

The show will be opened by Birmingham-based funk band Tragic City, and tickets are available online at Workplay.com.
