No injuries reported in school bus accident
STERRETT – Troopers from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 280 on Thursday, Sept. 28.
According to an ALEA press release, the wreck involved a school bus and a tractor trailer near Bear Creek Road. Shelby County Schools spokesperson Cindy Warner said the bus sustained significant damage at its front end, but no one was injured during the incident.
According to Warner, the bus was carrying students from Chelsea High School and Chelsea Middle School. Another bus was sent to take students home shortly after the accident occurred.
“We’re extremely thankful that there were no injuries,” Warner said.
