GSCCC welcomes new director of business development, support

PELHAM – Joining the Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce’s staff team in the position of director of business development and support is Jackson Pruett.

Pruett, who was formerly a project manager with the Shelby County Economic and Industrial Development Authority, is a 2015 graduate of Auburn University, majoring in political science.

In his role with the GSCCC, Pruett will coordinate the chamber’s Business Contact program, which is designed to meet with existing businesses throughout Shelby County to identify any challenges or opportunities they might have.

“The growth of existing businesses is an integral part of our new five year strategic plan,” said Chamber President & CEO Kirk Mancer. “It’s also crucial to our county and our communities’ continued growth and creation of new jobs. Jackson’s leadership in our Business Contact program will be vital to our success in achieving the goals we’ve laid out in the ShelbyOne Next Level Up! plan.”

In addition, Pruett will direct all of the chamber’s programs coordinated through the organization’s Small Business and Existing Business & Industry work groups, which include: Annual Small Business Celebration, Annual Industry Appreciation Reception, quarterly industry tours, the Green Business program, Entrepreneurial Roundtable and more.

“We’re pleased to have Jackson join our professional staff team, and look forward to the enthusiasm and effort he will bring to the chamber’s expanded program of work,” Mancer said.
