CHELSEA- Chelsea Presbyterian Church will be holding its inaugural service at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at Chelsea Middle School. Pastor James Daniels said the subject of the service will cover the topics of hospitality and grace, which he says reflects the new church’s motto: “Loving God, Loving People, Loving Life.”

“We’re very steeped in the history and the traditions of the church,” Daniels said. “We’re trying to adapt that with the people of Chelsea.”

Daniels and his family moved to Chelsea about four years ago after he accepted the position of Upper School Head of the Westminster School. While he has moved on from that position, he said his background in religious education played a factor in his decision to pastor a church.

As pastor, one of Daniels’s main goals is to get the church as active in the community as possible.

“We’re a church that is first and foremost for Chelsea. We want to help our community and our city,” Daniels said.

During the service, Daniels said the church will offer a nursery and additional care for young children.

“We’d love to have you show up for our service, and if there’s any way we can serve you or your family, let me know,” Daniels said.
