ALABASTER – Women looking to learn how to properly apply makeup, learn about products and get helpful skin care tips will have a chance to do so this weekend, as a local nonprofit organization is holding its first “Hello Gorgeous” party.

The event, which is being organized by the Evolve nonprofit organization, will be held on Saturday, March 3, from noon-4 p.m. at the Old Post Office event venue at 633 11^th Avenue Southwest in Alabaster.

In addition to covering the basics of proper makeup application, the event will also encourage attendees “to look within themselves and recognize unique attributes, leading to raised self esteem,” said event organizer Tanisha Snell.

Snell said it’s a “bring your own makeup” event, and will feature makeup artists, a guest speaker, refreshments, goodie bags, giveaways and more.

Admission to the event is $15, and raffle tickets are $5 apiece.
