Grady Robert Davis, a lifelong resident of Vincent, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 25, at the age of 89.

He was born Feb. 9, 1929 in the home of his parents, John Robert “Bob” and Bessie Allgood Davis. He served his country in the United States Army as well as the Alabama National Guard. He was an active member of Macedonia North Baptist Church. He worked with his hands to serve his Lord and his family and enjoyed gardening and reading.

Funeral service will be Saturday, April 28 at 11 a.m. at Macedonia North Baptist Church. Interment will follow the service in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.

He is survived by two sons, Rodney Davis and Eric (Tina) Davis; daughter, Eleshia (Derek) Robinson; daughter-in-law, Jo Wallis Davis; seven grandchildren, Cassie (Bama) Fields, Cortney (Cole) Martin, Bradley (April) Davis, Erin Davis, Nathan Davis, Brady Robinson, and Emily Robinson; five great-grandchildren, Addison Fields, Kadence Fields, Ella Grace Davis, Rylee Davis, and Dallas Meeks; and three sisters, Lois Jones, Myrtle Lou Austin, and Wynell (Charles) Turner.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Bonnie Berryhill Davis; his son, Franky Robert Davis; his parents, John Robert Davis, Jr. and Bessie Allgood Davis; his brothers, Barnett Davis, Frank Davis, and Gordon Davis; and his sisters, Roberta Ingram, Louise Alexander, Gertrude Spradley, and Ruth Baker.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Macedonia North Baptist Church, 171 Hwy 468, Vincent, AL 35178 in his memory.
