Girls crowned in Miss CityFest pageant

ALABASTER – Several local girls were crowned in many different divisions during the inaugural Miss CityFest Pageant the day before the 2018 CityFest event.
The Thompson High School cheerleading program teamed up with the Alabaster Arts Council to present the pageant, which was held in the old Thompson High School auditorium.
Girls from several local cities competed for titles in four divisions: The Tiny Miss CityFest division for students who just completed kindergarten through second grade, the Little Miss CityFest for students who just completed grades three through five, the Junior Miss CityFest division for students who just completed sixth through eighth grade and the Miss CityFest division for high school students.
Participants competed in both casual wear and formal wear walks. Overall winners were crowned the Miss for each division.
Blakely Channell, the reigning Miss Lee/Macon County Outstanding Teen, provided two dance performances as entertainment. Ashley Ryan with THS TV and Adeline Lee with the THS varsity cheerleading team and THS TV served as emcees for the event.
“The event was a success thanks to community support and pageant sponsors, as well as the participants and their audience supporters,” said THS cheer sponsor Suzanne Lee.
