Jerry B. Hill, age 79, of Birmingham, passed away Friday, June 8.

The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16 at Liberty Park Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Overstreet officiating.

Mr. Hill is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Ruby Hill.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Claudean Hargis Hill; daughters, Sherry Lynn Shirley (Paul), Lisa Ann Shulman (Brian), and Deanna Joan Kallman (Matt); six grandchildren, Christina Vick, Matthew Shirley, Tyler Shulman, Lauren Shulman, Cole Shulman, and Sydney Kallman; four great grandchildren, Angel Vick, Cooper Vick, Brayden Shirley, and Barrett Shirley; brother, Troy Hill; sister, Linda Sparks; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jerry and his family lived in Pasadena, Texas and Northwest Houston, Texas until a job took him to Montgomery in 1987. He retired in 1998 from Kindercare as Vice President of Human Resources. After retirement, he and Claudean moved to Birmingham.

Jerry loved baseball, skiing, golf, tennis, and woodworking. He loved being outdoors and making his yard the most pristine in the neighborhood.

His family expresses deep appreciation and gratitude to the Compassus Hospice team that made his last days on earth as tolerable as possible.
